‘1944’ IN 2016

The only film scheduled for release in the first week of August is an offbeat cinema ‘1944’ coming in 2016 – a pre independence backdrop cinema based on NS Rao’s ‘Rotti Runa’ stage play. The film releasing in the Indian independence month focus on an incident happened in 1944. Badri a still photographer turns director from this film. He has prepared screenplay for the film besides doing direction and cinematography.

The protagonist working under the hands of British is facing quixotic situation. His wife wants him to fight for Independence – How this is carried out is the crux of this film. Naveen Krishna plays a prominent role of Duggappa. Veteran actress Shruthi is in different role. Suchindra Prasad impeccable actor of Kannada cinema is in inspector role. Shivani is in the role of Naveen Krishna wife. Bhavya, Ramesh Bhat, Bank Janardhan, Dheeraj Surya, Kajuvali, Veeresh Belakawadi, Adrushna Nagaraj, Haasan Baabu are also in the cast.

The audio CD of the film was released on Monday morning. The shoot for this film was held at Kanakapura, Kaggalahali, Hosapete and other locations.

A film by Jai Bharatamba Movie Makers produced by Paramesh of KR Pet is distributed in 30 screens by Auto Raju.

Vijay M Kumar editing, Suresh dance, different Danny stunts, Dhruva and Veeresh Belagalapete penned dialogues for this film.
